How long does a man live?
How do we measure?
The length of a man’s life,
By number of years?
Or what he touched others by?
If truth be told,
The measure of life,
Is gauged by how,
We carry him inside.
Those who carry,
His essence and pride,
Receive and gift,
Of hope and life.
If we have to measure,
The length of one’s life,
He truly lives,
When through him,
Another survives.
For it is his giving,
That others receive,
A gift so precious,
Of hope and new life.
